A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Sam Brown served as a Platoon Leader in Afghanistan, leading soldiers in the midst of the “Birthplace” of the Taliban. While responding as the backup to an ambushed patrol, Sam’s vehicle drove over a bomb placed to disrupt any support to the engaged US soldiers.
Sam is a nationally recognized advocate for wounded warriors through his television news and radio appearances, conference speeches, and an extended profile in GQ magazine that chronicled his recovery. He leans on his personal leadership experiences to challenge and encourage others to expect and get the most out of their team. And, he is extremely passionate about talking about the suffering we all face and how we respond to it.
Sam currently spends time in the most important areas of his life: faith, family, service, and work. He is active at Watermark Church in Dallas where he and his wife, Amy, volunteer.
